The most popular way of getting around in Tulum is either by biking or hailing a taxi. Most places are reachable by bike but may be a bit of a workout. Car rentals are offered, but not popular.

Tulum isn't only known for its unplugged vacation vibes, but also for its year-round warm weather. If you want to enjoy the best weather, travel from October through December. If you want to stay away from the crowds, avoid traveling from January through March.

If you think you can get through your vacation with only a card, think again. Most bars and restaurants in Tulum are cash-only, but there are plenty of ATMs around if you do find yourself short on cash.
